Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2023 Ford Escape- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Ford Escape and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Base Plate. Just to show you what it looks like when our tow bar is not hooked up to it. You'll just simply disconnect your tow bar, pull this spring loaded pin, twist it, and slide this bar out. And this is all that's gonna be left on your front of your vehicle. You're gonna have these handy tabs to be able to attach your safety cables to, and it's gonna come with a bracket to mount your 6-pole that you'll need for your diode wiring. more

Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit Installation - 2022 Ford Escape- Video

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit here on a 2022 Ford Escape. So a base plate kit is just gonna be one of the many things that we need in order to tow our Escape here. And it's gonna serve as the physical connection between the motorhome and our vehicle via the tow bar. Now the tow bar is specific to the base plate kit so you wanna make sure that you're choosing a pair that is compatible with one another. The Roadmaster Crossbar-style is only gonna be compatible with the Roadmaster motorhome mounted tow bars. Now what a motor home mounted tow bar is, it simply secures to the motorhome via the two-inch hitch. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster, Crossbar Style Base Plate Kit, here on your 2020 Ford Escape. So this is what our base plate kit is gonna look like, when we have the arms installed, and we're ready to hook up to our tow bar. You can see here, we have some quick disconnect brackets, actually bolted to the face of our plates here. So this is the configuration that's gonna be needed, when we get ready to hook up to our motorhome, so we can easily attach the tow bars. But when we're not towing, we actually have a nice hidden sleek design, 'cause these arms here are easily removable. Now in order to move them, we're gonna come to the inside here. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2009 Ford Escape- Video

Hi, there Escape owners. Today, in your 2009 Ford Escape, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Blue Ox Base Plate.There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your Escape behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle. You'll need your base plate, which provides the connection point for your tow bar to attach to your vehicle.You'll need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home, and transfers them back to the lights at the back of your vehicles, so people behind you know your intentions, when going down the road. And you'll need your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle, when you hit the brakes in your motor home.The last thing you'll need is just some safety cables, which acts as a supplemental connection, in addition to your tow bar. Now I do want to make you aware that you should verify in your vehicle's owner's manual and check with your dealer before flat towing your escape, because there are going to be some restrictions, particularly with speed, when flat towing your Escape as is.This is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2010 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2010 Ford Escape, we're going to review and install the Blue Ox Base Plate with removable arms, part number BX2605. Here's what our base plate will look like once it's installed. To use our base plate, we'll simply remove the plastic cups that go into the receiver tubes when it's not in use. Then we can take our removable arm, slide it into the receiver tube until the detente pin is depressed and rotate it until it locks into position. Same thing here on the other side. Then once we're finished towing our vehicle, we want to take out the removable arms, we'll simply pull back on the detente pin and rotate it to unlock. We can put our plastic cups back into the receiver tube, to help keep that dirt, dust and debris out of the receiver tube. A couple of the really nice features about our base plate is how easy it is to install and equipped with it, our chain hold downs, or cable hold downs on each side. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2011 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2011 Ford Escape, we're going to install the Blue Ox Base Plate, part number BX2605. Our first step is to remove the two upper fasteners from the front grill, then locate it on either corner of the front grill of both driver and passenger's side. After we remove those two fasteners, we'll move over to the wheel wells and we have three pushpin fasteners on both sides to remove. This is just pushpin fasteners. You can pry this in or out and then remove the fastener assembly. There are the three fasteners here on the passenger's side. more
